ROCK CAMP FOR DADS! 2010

The most common challenge for adult guitarists and bassists all over the Twin Cities area is finding like-minded folks to play and practice music with. Time is of the essence and our individual lives are busy, so why not let an experienced hard working music staff organize an educational, entertaining, and flexible winter rock n roll music camp for you? New music ideas will flourish, techniques will be honed, progress will be made, songs will be performed, musical relationships will be cultivated, and you’ll get a blast of community spirit. Best of all we will rock, and no you don’t have to be a dad to attend the camp. The LHHM “Rock Camp For Dads” is open to any musician over the age of 21 and is designed for all skill levels. Plus at the end of RCFD you get a real gig!

* Groups will meet at 7:30pm Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Each group jam session will last 2 hours. There will be 4 rehearsals/ jam sessions/workshops before the big gig. Cost for “Rock Camp For Dads” is $195. Materials,practice amps,and drum kit will be provided, just bring your bass, guitar,drum sticks, and your voice! Participants can choose their weekly rehearsal time. Mike and the crew also help out with personal music instruction at the rehearsals.

*Sessions requirements for guitarists acoustic or electric
* Knowledge of basic major and minor chords
* The ability to read tablature.
* Some minor pentatonic scale knowledge would be helpful but isn’t required

*Session requirements for bassists (electric only)
* Knowledge of basic bass tablature
* Basic knowledge of right finger plucking

*Session requirements for drummers
* Good pocket, decent time, ability to play down tempo and up tempo tunes

*Session requirements for vocalists
* Good pitch, decent articulation, don’t be too shy. Rock Camp For Dads is aok with having multiple vocalists who can share the duties on low range songs & high range songs

The one Piece Core-Bar construction of all Pearl Flutes eliminates many of the wear and tear problems associated with traditionally constructed flutes, specifically in the areas of the high C key and the king post next to the F# key. Pearl has designed one rod that extends from high C through the king post resulting in an extremely reliable mechanism that plays more comfortably, stays in adjustment longer and is easier to service.

Pinless Construction
The foundation of every Pearl flute is a patented Pinless construction, which eliminates the problems of traditional flute construction - protruding needles that snag clothing and give easy entry to perspiration and body acids causing corrosion and binding keys. Besides this unique pinless construction, Pearl flutes have additional bridge mechanisms that add strength to the entire mechanism and socket-head screws that are inserted from the underside of the key work, preventing the entry of perspiration in to the mechanism.

This is an original Seagull that I purchased at the Podium a few years ago. It is similar to Seagull S6 except that mahogany is used on its back and sides instead of cherry wood. This was a more expensive model than the original S6 and has more balanced (and not so bright) sound, and much better bass than S6.

This guitar is in a very good condition, very playable, and tunes well. I will include Seagull hard-shell case ($80 value), which does not come included with Seagull models like S6, so you’re basically getting the guitar itself for a little over $200.

Yamaha MU-90R Synth Module/FX Unit in excellent condition. Made in Japan. You can google it and find a lot of info about it. British magazine "Sound and Sound" did a nice and thorough review of this unit.
