We're a 4 piece variety band who plays classic rock, country, rockabilly etc. We play mostly in the twin cities and have played 3-4 weekends per month for the past 3 years.
Our bass player sings mainly classic rock and some of the rockabilly tunes and the rhythm player handled most of the country, including Johnny Cash tunes which really goes over great. He's leaving the band as his schedule won't allow our busy dates. If you would like to play in a band that's busy, ego-free with no dramas going on,check us out... We all love to play and the money is nice also. The ideal member would be able to handle some lead vocals as well as harmonies. crazyfox1@live.com • Location: twin cities

St. Paul-based metal band Killwire is currently seeking a new drummer.
About us: We have been together for a little over a year. In that time we have managed to gain a pretty good following. We strive very hard not to be labeled as a specific type of metal band, but instead write music that incorporates all aspects of the genre. Major influences include but are not limited to: Pantera, Lamb of God, Mudvayne and Tool. You can hear some of our older self-recorded songs, as well as see a few live videos, at www.myspace.com/killwire. What we expect from you: -You must have your own gear. -You must have STRONG double bass skills. -You must have reliable transportation (practice and gigs) -You must have a constant source of income. -You would be required to learn all of the songs we have written already (13 total), plus be willing to contribute your ideas to new songs written in the future. -You must be a team player. Everyone in Killwire contributes to all aspects of the band. -You must be at least 18 (21+ preferred). -No druggies, no drunks, no egos, no douche bags. If you meet these requirements and feel that Killwire would be the right fit for you or if you have any further questions, drop us a line at killwire@gmail.com. • Location: South Saint Paul

Seeking Drums For Original R&B Bandposted: November 19, 2009, 01:42 PM

We are seeking drums to join our original r&b band, Sweet Gravitii. We are a 3 piece with vocals, bass, and guitar. Maybe in the future we will add a keyboard player or horn player, but right now this is what it is. As far as what we are looking for in a drummer, we want one that is a jazz / funk drummer as opposed to a rock / funk drummer. New Orleans funk like Meters or Galatic or old R&B like Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, etc... Other styles we dig are pop, jazz, funk, reggae, etc. We are all in our 30's. Basically we are a band that practices once a week and gigs like once or twice a month. We have a regular coffee shop gig once a month and we'll likely resume once we get things up and running. We don't make any money do mostly originals and do it for the love of the art. We may throw in a cover here or there, but think cover bands are pretentious and lame. If you are the type of person that is seeking notoriety, accolades, money, or fame then you likely wouldn't fit with us. We don't need no stinking jobbers. If you are a person that gets stoked on the process of contributing to writing a new song from the beginning idea and reworking it until it lands on a CD then this is the band for you. Currently we have 13 - 14 originals in the works and we hope that they'll end up on our next CD, which will be my guitarists and my 3rd release. Recording, gigs, and fun!
If this sounds like something that is up your ally we'll talk and set something up. If interested, please respond to this ad for more info with a link to your mp3's and phone number.

Looking for a KNOWN PRO group, or a band that HAS everything properly in it's place. I am a Slap/Rock/R&B dude. I have played every bar in town and some out. I am not looking to "start something".
If this is you and either need or "about" to need to improve your rythm section, hit me up! I have my myspace page below. The electrnica crap is for learning pro tools, sorry! There are a couple better bass bits after that and a Journey cover by my last band. I am over 35 but my fingers still work! I am more the player than the sanger. Discression assured and understood by curently working acts. I am not cocky in the least, but you would not believe the time I have wasted listening to responses from "less than desireable bands". http://www.myspace.com/barryboardwalkanderson Peace! Drummer and bass player looking to join or form a new project. We've played together on several projects in the past and would like to find another one to keep doing the same.
We're open to doing original material, covers or a mix of both. The preference is to play rock (Hard rock, Blues Rock, Classic Rock, Pop-Rock, etc) but we can also mix in some blues, a little jazz, folk and even a little country if we needed to - we're pretty much up for playing anything but Metal, Funk and "whiny, cryin' in yer beer" country. We both have families and day jobs, and would like to rehearse no more than 2x/week and gig out a couple times a month. • Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul

Christ Episcopal Church in Woodbury MN is looking for an experienced drummer and a bass player to expand our contemporary worship service. We mix more contemporary praise music with modern takes on traditional hymns into the standard liturgical setting. Great opportunity to play music in a welcoming, positive setting! Commitment to 2-3 services per month would be great, but since this is on a volunteer basis, we can certainly work with your schedule. Please contact Mark, the Parish Musician, via the email listed above with your name, which instrument, a brief summary of your experience, a phone number, and the best time to reach you to speak about an audition.
To learn more about us, check out http://www.christchurch-woodbury.org Thank you for your time! • Location: Wodbury MN
