![]() Introduction to Photoshop (Get the Red Eye Out) Do you want to know how to get the red-eye out of your holiday photos, how to isolate the main subject in the photo, or remove unwanted or distracting elements? In this Photoshop class, you'll learn to take your photography to a new level. Photoshop can be confusing. Just finding the right tool can be tough. This class covers all the basic adjustments and tweaks you will want to apply to your photos, and shows you where to find the tools and what the settings mean—all in plain English. A must for photo enthusiasts who want to give their photos a little more punch, as well as scrap-bookers who want to add some flair to their photos. Note that this class will be lecture/demo style, rather than you working at the computer. You will want to bring pen and notebook to take notes. If you do have Photoshop loaded on your laptop, you are welcome to bring that along and "copy" the instructor as he demos the various Photoshop techniques. Those enrolled in the class can send the instructor a photo in advance that they want fixed up, to be used as some of the examples during class. If a photo is selected for retouching, you'll get to keep the retouched photo. Date: Monday, November 30th Time: 7:00 - 9:00 pm Instructor: Steven Anthony Cost: $24 for two hours About the instructor: Steven Anthony has been making photographs for over 30 years. He owns Uptown Photography (www.uptownphoto.biz) and is a contributing photographer for Twin Cities Luxury + Fashion Magazine. ![]() KIDS "DROP & SHOP" ART CLASSES- FLOWERS and/or HORSES Drop your kids off for some fun, creative art activities, while you hit the after-Thanksgiving day sales! We are offering two different classes back-to-back, and you may select one or both of them. The class from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. has as a theme "Flower Art". Your kids will first learn to draw flowers (approx. one hour) and then they will make pretty petals to incorporate into their work. Do you remember pretty petals from your childhood...those wire pieces shaped into flowers and dipped into a colored plastic solution to fill in the spaces in the wire? The class from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. will have a horse theme. They will spend an hour learning to draw a horse head (sample shown above) complete with intricate shading techniques. They will spend the second hour making a necklace or other jewelry piece that incorporates a horse charm with beads and leather cord. The art work will be done with soft pastel chalks and colored pencils, and mounted on an 11" x 13" cardboard frame, ready to bring home. Date: Friday, November 27th Cost for one two hour session: $24 (includes materials) Cost for both two hour sessions: $42 ($6 savings!) Kids who are signed up for both will receive apple cider and a small snack in between classes. When you call to register, please specify ages. We believe these sessions would be appropriate for ages 8 (or mature 7), up to around age 14. -- Class offered at: The Studio at Rush Creek (763) 315-3001 www.studio-rush.com 9481 Garland Lane North Maple Grove, MN 55311 Walk in art studio & coffee house!
