Nearly 50 crafters and artisans will be selling all hand-made wares, perfect for holiday giving, including soaps and balms; natural stone, fused glass, beaded and other fine jewelry; photography; pottery; knitted items; gifts for pets; decorative garden stones; paintings; award-winning, self-published books; and much more. Saturday only, Central Park Elementary PTA will be raising money to support school visits to the Harriet Alexander Nature Center for environmental education classes. There will be a bake sale, cake walk, gift baskets, a light-meal service, face painting, a free kids’ make-and-take craft, and a special visit by Santa. At 3:00 pm on Saturday the school orchestra and choir will perform.

Oil Pastels with Andrea Altman - People and Pets

Learn about the exciting painting medium of oil pastels. The class is designed for
all levels. The instructor will share samples of her work and demonstrate various
techniques and approaches to creating a successful oil pastel painting.

Normally this class is structured as a landscape painting class, but for the November
class, you will receive instruction on painting people and pets. Your personal choice
of subject matter is welcome, so bring photos or other visuals. The instructor will
end with a short discussion on the proper care and framing of finished oil pastels.

Alternatively, Andrea can help you create a winter scene for a holiday card. Bring an
idea or appropriate photo. If you would like your finished painting to be scanned and
reproduced for cards, the Studio's costs are: scanning and manipulating for card
printing ($5) and printing on the wax printer for a glossy finish (75 cents per 8-1/2" x 11" sheet).

Instructor Andrea Altman , an award winning artist, has sold her work at local and
national galleries and juried art shows. If you have any questions for the instructor,
