Review and Practice Mambo, Cumbia, Merengue, Cha Cha, Rumba, and Bachata dances
Thursday 12/3/2009 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Since we are going Salsa/Latin dancing the next day, we will be reviewing and practicing all the Salsa/Latin dances we have learned in the last couple of months: Mambo, Cumbia, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, and Rumba We will be rotating partners frequently to make sure that ** Nobody is without a partner for long, and ** You get to dance with most everybody of opposite gender in the group. ** Couples and partnered people are welcome if you are willing to rotate partners with everybody in the group. We will meet at Patrick's Cabaret at 3010 Minnehaha Avenue South at Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407. ** There are parking lots on both sides (South and North) of Patrick's Cabaret, and you can park at any open spot marked Patrick's Cabaret. ** In addition, street parking is free after 6:00 p.m. ** There is a Police Station across the North parking lot. This means we will be safer in this area. However, be sure to follow all parking rules/signs. ** There are a number of bus lines running near this location, and the light rail is only two blocks away. ** The entrance to the studio is through the red door at the back end of the South parking lot. Please bring your own beverage to drink during the lesson. There is no alcohol allowed at the studio. However, some of us like to go out for food/drinks at a nearby establishment after the lesson. Our current hangout has started Karaoke singing on Thursdays nights, and some people wanted to go someplace quiet. If you know of any nice places nearby, please let us know. Hopefully, they serve food at least until 10:00 p.m. on Thursdays, have a full bar, and may be even have some happy hour type deals. Here are a few joints I found, but I do not know anything about them. ** Schooner Bar ** McMahon’s Pub ** Merlins Rest Pub ** Memory Lanes and Flashback Café, and ** Hexagon Bar Cost for the class is only $10/night. (Please bring cash; exact change is preferable.) Any night we have more than 20 members, we will do a drawing for one person to get a free class. We hope to see you there! Feel free to pass this information onto your friends/family/co-workers. The more the merrier. :-) • Location: Patrick's Cabaret

If you are a nurse, paramedic, EMT, lifeguard or any other health and safety professional, you know you're required to become -- and remain -- certified in an advanced CPR/AED class. To comply with that requirement, you have a choice between American Red Cross and American Heart Association certifications.
CPR-Twin Cities is an authorized provider of Red Cross classes in the Twin Cities area. Our next recertification class in "CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider" and "CPR/AED for Lifeguards" is on Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (with a one-hour lunch break.) To qualify for this review class, you must have successfully completed one of those classes, or the Heart Association's BLS Healthcare Provider equivalent, within the past two years. Our next certification class is on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 17 and 18, from 6:00 until 10:15 p.m. Certification for professional rescuers and healthcare providers is now good for two years. Lifeguard certification, however, continues to be good for one year only. At CPR-Twin Cities, we offer you a choice of attending scheduled classes in our St. Paul (Highland Park) training center, or having classes brought to you at work (or even in the comfort of your own living room). Our scheduled classes are listed on our Web site at www.CPR-TwinCities.com. To join a class as an individual -- or to set up a class for a group -- please respond here. (If you know of any nice places nearby, please let us know. Hopefully, they serve food at least until 10:00 p.m. on Thursdays, have a full bar, and may be even have some happy hour type deals.) Cost is only $10/night. (Please bring cash; exact change is preferable.) Any night we have more than 20 members, we will do a drawing for one person to get a free class. We hope to see you there! Feel free to pass this information onto your friends/family/co-workers. The more the merrier. :-) • Location: Patrick's Cabaret
