A group focused on the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj is starting in October. We will discuss the basic principles of Advaita Vedanta, the philosophy of non-duality, which underlies the teachings of Nisargadatta, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and many other enlightened teachers. The purpose of the practice is to yoke the small self to the big Self, the individual to the divine.

The format is simple. We start in silence, then discuss a simple point of non-duality from "I Am That." This is not a therapy or support group. You needn't know anything about non-duality or have any particular spiritual practice. The group will be simple, natural, quiet, and profound. It begins October 21, 7 - 8:30 p.m. and continues every Wednesday through November. St. Paul.

Fused Glass Tree Ornaments and Small Holiday Plates




While we are not trying to rush the holiday season, we think it's not too early to think about
these gifts IF you're going to be making them yourself!

Instructor Stephanie Windler has been selling her unique glass fused and wire wrapped tree
ornaments at art fairs this summer. She will teach you how to make snowflakes, trees, stockings
and many other festive holiday ideas. Think about giving everybody on your Christmas list
one of these ornaments, or even attaching them to your gift boxes as an embellishment
that they will save.

During class you will learn the principles of kiln fired glass and how to cut glass. You should
be able to make at least six different glass ornaments - more if time permits. We will fuse them
in our glass kilns, and you can come back within 2 days to pick up your ornaments.
The instructor will demonstrate the wire wrapping during class, and we will send you home
with instructional photos as well as enough wire to do the wrapping. (If you don't have pliers
at home to wrap, you may wrap them in our studio, using our pliers.)

The instructor will also show you how she makes her small holiday plates using stamps and
copper inclusions. Time permitting, you may make a plate or two of your own during class.

Stained Glass Jewelry and Collage Pendants

Learn the basics of stained glass on a very small scale by making jewelry pieces.
We will have collage materials (photos, words and phrases) to make your pendants.
You will then learn to cut and foil glass, and to solder and attach jump rings. We
will have the option of using lead-free solder.

Another option will be to insert dried flowers or a small photograph inbetween
two thin microsope slides. Note: If you want to make a photo pendant, bring a
small photo(s) to class; we'll have all the other materials. We can also show you
how to attach wire and charm embellishments.

During previous classes, students have been able to complete multiple pieces
during the two hour class time. The class fee cost is $29, and the materials fee
is $5 for each piece made. (Ear wires for earrings or chains for pendants are extra.)

Stone Setting and Open Studio

Come work on metalworking stone-setting projects with Certified Bench Jeweler
Sara D. Commers! Sara will demonstrate how to set a stone using prefabricated bezels,
as well as prong settings and flush-setting rounds. Then you will be able to select your
project to set a stone. (The flush set project option will be a sterling "dog tag" pendant
with stones.)

Note that Sara is very comfortable with multi-tasking, and if you have metalworking
projects that you want to work on at the Studio while Sara is here to help you and
answer questions, bring your projects in between 7:00 and 9:00. (Pay regular studio
time cost.)

Copper Etched Jewelry

Learn to add patterns and textures to copper pieces by etching them. You will learn
about the various materials needed for etching, how to prepare the copper for etching,
apply the resists, and etch. During the second part of class you will learn wire wrapping
and jewelry finishing techniques to make your pieces into pendants or earrings. We will
]have a selection of beads and findings for you. Start thinking about holiday gifts!

Learn how to use resin for charms and pendants. Participants will use images,

Learn stained glass construction by making this autumn wreath out of wire,
stained glass and glass nuggets.

During class you'll learn how to make the pattern, cut and grind the glass, and then
copper foil the edges. You'll make the wire frame with leaves and then assemble and

Cork Trivets, Bulletin Boards and Other Cork Art

Wine cork is natural and organic. It can be used to make trivets that protect your
countertops from heat, or even wine cork bulletin boards (with wine label borders).

We bought 1,000+ recycled wine corks on ebay and 300 wine labels just for this class!
We have also researched the best way to make several projects using wine corks, so come

Beaded Crocheted Necklace (Using Wire)

A beaded crochet necklace is both lightweight and feminine. With Mother's
Day and prom fast approaching, this would be the perfect home-made gift!
The beauty of the crochet necklace is the ability to wear it with jeans and a
T-shirt or a formal gown. The class will be easy and fun, and everyone will
walk away with a hand-made necklace they can wear! This project is a
great way to use up loose beads in your stash, or those gem stone chips
you've had hidden away. An array of glass beads, gemstones, and Swarovski
crystals will be available at the Studio. If you have specific beads of your
own that you want to use (size 6-0 seed beads and up to 8mm other beads),
feel free to bring your own! (You will use between 75 and 100 beads.)

Knittig with Wire: The Double Viking Weave

Come and learn the technique of knitting with wire, in this case the
Double Viking Weave, to make a bracelet or necklace. Some participants
may be able to finish their piece during the allotted 3 hours, and others may
need to take the project home to continue. With the skills you will learn
from this class, you will be able to viking weave (single, double, triple, etc.)
to make more bracelets, necklaces, and even animal collars! This weave is
versatile and strong, and has been used for centuries. Once you begin a
project it can be taken with you or done while watching television.
Viking weave is easy and fun!

Two Hours, Four Necklaces



Two Hours, Four Necklaces

Come spend two hours on a Friday evening with instructor Christy Branham,
and make four fabulous and funky pendants on chains:

*Glass Tile Pendant: Using a 1”x1” glass tile, a silver bail, adhesive/decoupage
mediums, and the picture of your choice (pictures will be provided in class,
otherwise, please bring one that has already been resized to 1”x1”, printed on
high quality photo paper), you will create a keepsake necklace that is both
inexpensive to make and fun to wear!

*Flattened Bottle Cap Pendant: Hot and very inexpensive to make,
bottle cap necklaces are all the rage, and have the effect of being filled with
crystal clear resin! You will be provided with a sheet of collage images in class
to choose from as you create your necklace using a flattened bottle cap, 3D
Crystal Glaze, and a bail.

*Standard Bottlecap Necklace: Another hot pendant that’s all the
rage, put even more creativity into this bottle cap version by adding dangles and
baubles to create a beautiful piece of art. Again, using a collage image, decoupage
medium, 3D Crystal Glaze and basic jewelry findings, you will put together this
unbelievably simple pendant. Basic wire-wrapping will also be covered to
embellish your creation.

*Scrabble Tile Necklace: You will be tempted to raid your game
cupboard after learning how to make this fun, interesting pendant! Using a
repurposed Scrabble Tile (widely available on the internet!), a silver bail, and
decoupage mediums, and 3D Crystal Glaze, you will transform that nuisance
of a letter Q into a cool addition to your accessory wardrobe!

Branch Wire Beading Method

Learn to make artful, delicate pendants or jewelry components using the branch
wire method. Your finished pieces may be added to a beaded necklace, a length
of chain, or incorporated into another jewelry project. This is a beginner level class,
with no wire experience necessary (but it is always a plus). You can expect to go
home with one or two pieces, depending on the size and detail of your piece.

she has many creative interests, Kristin's love for making jewelry tops her list.
