Join Midwest Spine & Brain Institute -- an innovative spine surgical practice specializing in the treatment of spinal injuries, disorders, and research. We are currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner- Certified, to join our team as a hospital-based provider.

This new position works collaboratively with the physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, hospitalists, nursing staff and other clinical care team members to assess and oversee surgical spine patients in the hospital setting. Occasional work in the clinic.

Primary Responsibilities include:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience as a nurse practitioner. Proven success is essential in the assessment and management of spine patients in the hospital setting, as well as working in a patient-centered environment. This provider will have a passion for helping others, excellent attention to detail, effective decision making, successful problem solving experience, superior communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Experience with EPIC EHR/EPM is highly desirable. Excellent Pay and benefits package.

Job Requirements

* Triage, evaluate and assess orthopedic spine/neurosurgical spine patients in the hospital setting for appropriate treatment recommendations using evidence-based research in clinical practice and in accordance with Midwest Spine & Brain Institute (MSBI)protocols.

*Daily rounding to evaluate the patient's condition, facilitate effective communication and clarify the plan of care with the patient, providers and hospital staff.

*Enter orders into the electronic health record.

*Consistently respond within the expected time frame to emergency department and inpatient needs for efficient and timely communication, decision-making, and patient care. Provide consistent and thorough documentation and communication.

*Facilitate discharge of patient and verify that the patient's plan for home care and follow-up is complete.

*Participate on clinical quality committees as requested.

*Maintain clinical competency by attendance at ongoing education as needed.
