Job Description
This is an exciting time to join Catholic Eldercare As a Home Health Aide, you have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others. In this position, you are responsible for providing personal care and designated health related services designed to maintain the clients physical and emotional well:being. Join our dedicated team of caring professionals. Full:time, part:time and on:call positions available
:Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and documentation. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency, accuracy and competency in assistance with medication administration on a consistent basis.
:Must be punctual.
:Must be able to remain calm in difficult or unusual circumstances.
:Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
:Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
:Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
:Assist the client with personal cares which may include all or some of the following: shampooing of hair, assist with
showering/whirlpool, application of lotions, fingernail and foot cares if instructed to do so, oral cares, dressing, redirection of a confused client, and other cares as assigned.
:Assist in the use of adaptive devices such as hearing aides and glasses.
:Assist each client to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence, allowing for choices that promote safety and well:being and foster self:help.
:Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per individualized care plan after competency training and testing.
:Observe client and monitor and report changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, loss of endurance, increase in pain and weight, changes etc.
:Assistance with self:administration of medication and/or medication administration as delegated by RN.
:Prepare meals as directed following special meal plans if instructed.
:Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as instructed.
:Report changes and concerns to RN.
:Follows cleaning schedule per shift worked.
:Lead client activities as scheduled and assigned.
:Employees assigned to the Memory Care Units must know the location of all Memory Care tenants at all times.
:Perform all duties in a manner that is consistent with quality standards, infection control, and safety measures, which includes using Standard Precautions, at all times.
:Participate in in:service programs, mandatory training, and attend meetings in the interest of improving skills, acquiring knowledge, and meeting state and federal regulations.
:Remain current on tuberculosis screening.
:Work as a team member and adapt to changes in work assignments to meet resident and/or staffing needs.
:Performs other related duties as assigned.
