About this role:
The Medical Writer is responsible for the preparation of slides and documents that support the scientific and medical education presentation needs of assigned therapeutic areas and/or products in the Peripheral Interventions (PI) Medical Affairs group.
Support and create accurate, compelling, and timely communications to maximize the understanding and amplification of clinical evidence in support of BSC therapies.
Monitors industry activity to identify the clinical and educational needs of our customers. Serves as clinical content expert for both key physician customers, medical community leadership societies and BSC business partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
:Development, dissemination, and amplification of scientific clinical content in a variety of communication vehicles to ensure appropriate evaluation and presentation of data, interpretation, and alignment with business objectives.
:Clinical content preparation for symposia (non:CME), speaker slide decks, post:meeting slide decks, topical slide decks and other Medical Education modules.
:Preparation of manuscripts, scientific abstracts, conference presentations and posters based on BSC clinical trials in a variety of therapeutic areas globally.
:Develops and maintains a high level of expertise in data pertaining to all marketed and pipeline products, as well as a solid knowledge base of current data developments in relevant fields of assigned technologies.
:Interacts with clinical, marketing, and other groups outside Medical Affairs to ensure clinical data are represented accurately in prepared materials.
:Organizes and conducts content development meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
:Ensures that accurate, high:quality deliverables are prepared on schedule. Assists other medical writers as per project timeline and workload demands.
:Understands and utilizes various internal Boston Scientific systems and procedures, including METIS.
What we're looking for:
:2+ years of research or scientific/medical communications experience
:Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, scientific and clinical research methods
:Internet and scientific literature research experience
:Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
:Bachelor's degree in science or communication:related field, or Graduate degree in science or medicine:related field
:Medical device experience
:Experience preparing scientific publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts)
:Experience with clinical research (clinical study reports, protocol development)
:Experience with educational content development (CME or non:CME)
:Knowledge of medical publication guidelines (ICMJE, CONSORT, PRISM, GPP)
