SummaryPosition provides support for Electric Energy Management/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (EMS/SCADA) systems. Work with specific applications within the environment, which include Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Network Applications (NA), Interchange Transaction Scheduling (ITS), Energy Accounting (EA), etc. Provides support to Programmer's I and II. Self- starter; receives work direction from application change request process, project managers, and business managers. Works with team members to ensure that requests are managed to completion.Leads, as well as, designs, tests, and develops critical enhancements for the Electric EMS/SCADA environment. Master in understanding system architecture and how applications support the company's physical operations.Provides work direction to the Electric EMS/SCADA programmer I and II positions. Assist management in understanding resource contention and help provide viable alternatives to meet obligations.Works with the integration team to support integration of software into the test and production environments.Gather, create, and document user requirements and work with the Electric EMS/SCADA team to ensure requirements are met. Ensure technical documentation is created and maintained and that standard change and release processes are supported.Keep abreast of technology, industry and business trends to ensure that appropriate technologies are being considered in the planning process that meet organizational requirements. Preference will be given to candidates 5 years supporting Electric Energy Management/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (EMS/SCADA) systemsEssential ResponsibilitiesProvides technical guidance to development staff in conjunction with business area software products and instructs developers on technical decision points.Develops installation and rollout plans for Business Unit technologies and ensures plans are met. Interacts with clients to determine business requirements and project objectives. Identifies gaps and resolves. Presents system level solutions.Analyzes, plans, designs, develops, tests, implements, supports, and maintains information systems solutions using client server, n-tiered and web-based technology. Ensures that projects installed are effectively adding value to the business area.Provides project management of complex development efforts. Works with users to determine requirements of mission-critical systems.
