POSITION SUMMARY
Analyze and solve quality problems. Inspect and test machined or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Use technical skills to create inspection programs for CMM. Use custom written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, quality, and customers.

:Use technical skills to create inspection programs for CMM. Use custom written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, quality, and customers.
:Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required.
:Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications and record inspection or test data. Apply advanced measuring instruments plus simple instruments.
:Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
:Organize and prioritize department duties and workload in coordination with the team manager.
:Identify and implement process improvements.
:Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
:Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
:Set controls for and start and monitor machines that automatically measure, sort, or inspect products.
:Revise existing CMM programs to eliminate errors and retest programs to check that problems have been solved, and modify to enhance efficiency.
:Write inspection related instruction sheets in order to guide use of the CMM setup and ensure repeatability and operations team training level.

SKILLS and ABILITIES
Education: Associates Degree (two year college or technical school) in Technical field, Inspection, or CMM programming
Experience: 2 years of experience as an Inspector in a manufacturing factory environment with metal machining as the primary process
Computer Skills: Must have experience with a variety of software and computer programs. Must have experience using and programming a CMM with PC:DMIS CAD++ with AutoPath Software Bundle.
Other Requirements: Must be proficient at reading and interpreting blue prints including geometric dimensional tolerancing.
