Rainbow Health Initiative (RHI) is hiring for a part-time coordinator position with Shift MN! Shift MN is a program
of RHI that advocates for healthier LGBTQ communities through outreach, education, social media, and policy, with
an emphasis on severing ties between corporate tobacco and LGBTQ communities. We envision LGBTQ communities
where everyone has equitable access to resources that cultivate sustainable wellness practices. RHI is a
community-based non-profit organization committed to advancing the health and wellness of lesbian, gay,
bixsexual, transgender and queer communities through research, education and advocacy.

Primary Duties
The Coordinator will be part of a group of LGBTQ young adults (ages 18-29) working on tobacco control through community outreach and education around tobacco, research, event planning, social marketing and networking, and outreach. We use our skills to change community norms, develop and execute anti-tobacco social marketing campaigns, and engage in other creative forms of community outreach. Shift MN works to connect how race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and other facets of identity impact tobacco use and how they are connected to broader access to health and wellness.

The Job:
Develop and execute anti-tobacco social marketing campaigns
Participate in events where Shift MN has a presence, including Pride festivals and LGBTQ events
Plan health/wellness events with community partners
Write blog posts, post on social media accounts, increase web presence of Shift MN

Strong connection to LGBTQ communities
Ability to work with diverse populations and effectively in a team setting
Tobacco free
Awareness of other organizations/general landscape of broader Twin Cities communities
Familiarity with various social media platforms and interested in outreach
Familiarity and experience with anti-racist practice
Committed to uprooting transmisogyny from self and community
Introspective of personal experiences of race, gender, and class
Writing and public speaking skills
Knowledge and passion for LGBTQ health, particularly community health and tobacco use
A working knowledge of local LGBTQ communities and health disparities

Additional Info
You will:
Receive leadership, policy, event planning, and social marketing/networking training
Gain experience working in a non-profit environment
Facilitate community outreach and education around tobacco and LGBTQ people
Work with other LGBTQ young adults to decrease LGBTQ health disparities
Receive stipend of $15 per hour for 10 hours a week
