Primary Duties:

The Donor Communications Associate is responsible for developing materials to communicate the vision, mission and activities of Nonviolent Peaceforce to external audiences and internal supporters, primarily within the U.S. This position is responsible for the overall communications vision and strategy to enhance visibility, acquire and retain supporters. Acting as a resident storyteller, researcher, and journalist, the ideal candidate will have the ability to write compelling narratives for a donor audience based on information provided from field staff in various countries. Efforts will focus on engagement and cultivation of donors and prospective donors in alignment with the goals, priorities and needs of the organizational strategic plan. The position reports to the Director of Development/U.S. Office in the St. Paul office.


Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field; Three years’ communications, marketing and social media experience; Experience creating donor-centric fundraising materials; Commitment to mission of organization and interest in international peacebuilding Skills: Excellent writing skills; ability to write articles on program work and to edit content prepared by others Solid organizational and project management skills Strong computer skills, including experience with Office 365, Facebook, HTML, InDesign, and Photoshop Cultural competence and global worldview Ability to work effectively and collaboratively, often conducting meetings through Skype or phone conferencing

Additional Info:

Work with national and international program staff to identify and develop content to engage current and potential supporters. Ability to enhance stories with compelling photos and video. Ability to develop strong working relationships with international program staff is essential. Assist with development of comprehensive communications strategy and measurement of effectiveness.
