The purpose of the IT Internship Program is to introduce students to careers in Information Technology (IT) at Blue Cross through challenging and rewarding experiences and an opportunity to contribute to strategic business objectives with a technology focus. The goal of our program is this experience becomes a pathway to future employment within our IT teams. The intern will be fully integrated into the business objectives which allow a realistic perspective in an IT position. Through their individual assignments, students will develop knowledge, technical/professional skills, and core competencies in one or more of the following areas:
? Application Development : design, develop and test code to solve a business problem with technology
? Infrastructure : Install, configures, administers, monitor or maintain an infrastructure platform which may include voice, data, audio, video, software, hardware, and call center infrastructure or the following technologies: Skype for Business, Windows Operating Systems, Networking, TCP/IP, Linux, Unix
? Information Security : Opportunities within our IT Security area which include IT risk management, security infrastructure, and cyber security.
? Business Consulting : Research external emerging technologies to healthcare business opportunities, discuss potential solutions with business partner, required programming experience, web development, understanding of human centered design and capable of prototyping.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in the implementation of IT programs and systems. Prepare analysis of business needs. Own day to day responsibilities as well as a project deliverables during the assignment. Partner with other Blue Cross interns to solution a real life business problem, participate in community activities, network, and mostly have fun.
Success Profile: The ideal candidate will be an Information Technology major, possess strong leadership competencies, analytical ability and strategic thinking skills; be a strong communicator; the ability to understand business issues and to manage effectively in a fast moving and dynamic environment.
This is a 10:12 week fill:time commitment for the summer of 2017. Program placement is based on students interest and skill set.
:Holds a GPA of 3.0 or above on a scale of 4.0
:Completed Sophomore level or above
:Strong application knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
:Ability to multi:task and support a variety projects
