Operis Tax Consulting, LLC is seeking a Tax Senior with public accounting experience to join our Minnetonka tax team. The Tax Senior is responsible for supervising the tax reporting, planning and compliance functions for assigned clients. Responsibilities include the preparation and review of federal, state and local tax work papers and returns; tax planning and research; and assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state and local income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, trusts and individuals Prepare and review tax work papers to document book to tax differences, including preparation and maintenance of deferred tax inventory schedules Identify tax issues and planning opportunities in the preparation and review of returns Research and prepare tax memorandums to support important tax positions Set up and maintain member/shareholder basis schedules Prepare and review federal and state quarterly estimates and extensions Research and respond to inquiries from state and local taxing authorities Assist with audit inquiry responses, review document requests, gather and analyze documents, and research applicable law Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, especially those relating to real estate development, construction, and pass-through entities Supervise and assist with training and development of new team members; assign work, monitor progress, review assignments and provide direction to new team members Provide regular performance assessments and annual performance appraisals of subordinates Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline CPA designation preferred Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the tax field, preferably with public accounting experience Experience with pass-through entity taxation a plus Excellent research and technical writing abilities High level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong organization skills and the ability to work independently to complete simultaneous projects by specific deadlines, in an accurate and thorough manner Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Competitive salary and benefits package
